Born in Beijing in 1958, Wang Kun went on to study and graduate from the Oil Painting Department of the People's Liberation Army Art Institute and continued his education at the Central Academt of Fine Arts. Wang Kun has taken many trips to Gannan, Tibet to seek inspiration, being known for painting its snowy plateau's, local wildlife, people, and the mountains that overshadow the region.
