Originally from Michoacán, Ignacio Ortiz studied at the School of Plastic Arts of the University of Nuevo León. Rivera and Siqueiros saw his potential and supported him to continue preparing. His obsession with form was discovered along with the special gift to handle the language of drawing. Thus, without colorful tricks or passing fashions, Picasso arrived in his career, whom he visited in his house-studio in France. "When I had the opportunity to meet Picasso, I went to his studio for a personal invitation, and then there were a lot of people waiting. Finally I had the opportunity to enter, I talked with him, I showed him my work, he told me that I should not give anything away, that painters should not give away anything, but sell because they never gave us anything. We're going to take into account ... He invited me later if he wanted to return to his workshop next year to accompany him and talk and work in his pottery workshop and I said yes with pleasure.
