Artist Mario Rangel Faz was born in 1956 in Mexico City. 

When Rangel Faz began his career as an artist, the very agitation of the time led him to German expressionism.  Faz was inspired by the work of Georg Baselitz, Elvira Bach and Markus Lüpertz, among others.

He was considered a content expressionist, a passionate one that,  made a very rational art that differentiated it remarkably from the rigid German style.

In his works reveals his philosophy of color and his concern to congenial primary with the tertiary and the warm with the cold.  He was a painter interested in recording the creative development, which made having an easy contemporary reading of his work.

Mario Rangel Faz passed away in 2009 in Mexico City.
