Ignacio Manuel Beteta

Ignacio Beteta (1898 - 1988) is known for Painting.

Ignacio Beteta (1898-1988) was an outstanding student of Ignacio Asúnsolo and Dr. Atl at the Academy of San Carlos. Shortly after beginning his studies, he left school to join the Constitutionalist Army where he became a Major General in the Mexican Army. He continued his artistic education in 1929 and took every trip with his brush to capture the landscape of Europe, America and Asia. The work of the General Beteta is considered by many art critics as impressionist and contemporary with realistic atmospheres. Museums and public and private institutions around the world have his work in their collections. "Ignacio Beteta in his landscapes, especially those in which interprets the mist of a rainy day, have nothing that fogging. He is a master of the difficult art of watercolor painting with which he managed impressionist images with delight."
