Yvon Taillandier (1926 - 2018) was active/lived in France.  Yvon Taillandier is known for Figurative painting of imaginary world, cartoon style, art historian and critic.

Yvon Taillandier was a French painter, sculptor and writer, born March 28, 1926 in Paris and died March 3, 2018 in Avignon. She presented her first solo exhibition at the L'Art français gallery in Lyon in 1942.

In the 1950s, she abandoned painting in favor of literature (art criticism, art history). She contributed for fourteen years to the journal Connaissance des arts and the journal XXe siècle.

She was secretary of the May Salon committee for 44 years.

Yvon Taillandier's painting is figurative, constantly narrative and creates an imaginary world with its characters, its events.

Inventor of “Taillandierland”, the painter describes this invented world with its inhabitants, its universe. Mixing image and language, she claims it to be literary painting.
