Jean Sardi was a French painter born in Toulon. He spent his youth there but had to move to Champagne for professional reasons. He returned to his native region in 1980 and began painting, which became a dominating force in his life. Sardi worked in his studio, concentrating on translating the vision that haunted him onto his canvas. His compositions were structured by the play of horizontals and verticals, and his sense of harmony balanced the dynamism and chromatic ardor. Sardi was known for his use of color, which was the true subject of his paintings. He often painted scenes of Provence, capturing the atmosphere, heat, space, cheerfulness, and generosity of the region
