Gregor Hildebrandt (Born 1974) is active/lives in Germany.  Gregor Hildebrandt is known for Audio and video tape painting and installations.

Gregor Hildebrandt was born in Bad Homburg in 1974.  Hildebrandt studied from 1999 to 2002 at the University of the Arts Berlin and received a scholarship from the German Study Centre in Venice the subsequent year.  In his newly adopted home of Berlin, Hildebrandt together with the concept sculptor Alicja Kwade, became one of the most successful couples of the Berlin art scene.  Gregor was then represented by Galerie Wentrup and quickly became a popular shooting star.

His artistic trademark is the exploitation and processing of art, involving the form of audio and video tapes in his works.  The artist uses a kind of `Rohmaterial` in his art; blank cassettes and audio or video tape recordings that in the digital age are already extinct technology in the music and film industry but are a substantive center of his work.
