Harry St. John Dix (1907 - 1968) was active/lived in New York / Europe.  Harry Dix is known for Landscape, military genre, architecture, regional scene, precisionism.

Harry St. John Dix was born in Seattle Washington 1907/8, and died in NY, NY 1968. He studied at Eaton College, England, and at the Art Students League, New York City. He was a combat artist during WW II.

His first assignment was at Keesler Field, Mississippi, where he executed murals and paintings for the day rooms. He later was stationed in London where he was attached to the Historical Service, G-3, AFHQ as an artist and photographer. His assignments included England, France, and Germany. He found combat action in the front line battles, combat service support, and painted the daily life of the military men and women.

He exhibited in New York City at D. Wigmore Fine Art Exhibit: "Adapting Precisionism in Architectural Subjects: 1920s-1940s,” where he exhibited: “Kansas Gas Station,” c.1938.
