We purchased an original painting in Toronto, Ont Canada in 1966/7. Attached was information on the artist as follows:

"ROBERT MAXWELL was born in New York where he studied at the Art Students League and the National Academy. He has been the recipient of both a Hallgarten Scholarship and a Stacey Foundation Award. Maxwell is known and respected in Mexico. He has exhibited with the American Watercolor Society and regional shows in Westchester County, New York and Mexico City,"

The painting we purchased depicted a woman sitting on a bench, titled "MUJER CON VESTIDO MORADO", approximately 20"x28", oil on canvas.
