Omar Ba

Omar Ba (Born 1977) is known for Painting.

Born in 1977 and raised in Senegal, Omar Ba attended the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Dakar before moving onto Geneva in 2003 to pursue further artistic education at the École Supéreiure des Beaux-Arts. It was here where he started developing his original abstract and surreal style.

Today, Ba splits his time between Dakar and Geneva. In 2010, he won the Swiss Art Award following his work being exhibited with the Galerie Guy Bärtschi.

Omar Ba's work was displayed in a string of exhibitions such as at the BOZAR in Brussels and the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris in 2017, and also partook in Art Basel and exhibiting in Bienne atCentrePasqueArt in 2013.

Omar Ba has continued to garner success with his surrealist representations of political and social issues. Poetic and symbolic, his works allow the viewer a lens into his subconscious.

With a strong focus on concepts of duality, Ba's works present both the imaginary and historically factual.
