Nancy Tuttle May is a locally (North Carolina) based artist whose works are in private and corporate collections worldwide.  She has numerous exhibits extensively throughout the Southeast.  Her awards include a National Endowment Grant, Visiting Artist fellowship and recognition in juried shows.  Her current work is primarily on canvas, with acrylic, gold leaf powders, oil sticks, charcoal, pumice, marble dust, silk tissue and some collage technique.

Artist's Statement:
My current work incorporates acrylics, pastels, gold leaf, metal powders and silk tissue on paper and canvas.  This process involves freedom and discipline working together to allow the spirit to function. The greatest joy comes when a painting takes on its own wings. In a fleeting moment it moves outside my control; I become a conduit.
