Miguel Mihura

Miguel Mihura (1905 - 1977) was active/lived in Spain.  Miguel Mihura is known for Painting.

Playwright, journalist and cartoonist, Miguel Mihura abandoned his anatomy studies to devote himself to humor and cartoons in magazines such as Gutiérrez, Macaco, Buen Humor and Muchas Gracias. The 1920s was a period of a certain bohemianism, of gatherings in cafés, where he met important journalists of the humorous genre, such as Tono, Edgar Neville and Enrique Jardiel Poncela; the latter had a powerful influence on his style. In 1932 he wrote Tres sombreros de copa. After the war he collaborated with the weekly Tajo, where he directed the humorous section "La Ametralladora". In 1941 he began to collaborate with La Codorniz. From the fifties onwards, a small change took place in Mihura's work: satire prevailed over humor.
