Maurice Henry was born in 1907, in northern France.  He studied in Douai, Paris and Lille.

In 1927, he settled in Paris to study law. Along with a group of young poets and philosophers, he founded the group ‘Grand Jeu’, which was understood as a movement for the art of living.  He worked for the magazines ‘Le Rouge et le Noir’ and ‘Paris Montparnasse’.

In 1932, he joined the Surrealist movement and met Salvador Dalí. Starting from 1935, he began a collaboration with ‘Konkretion’ in Copenhagen.  As of 1939, Henry worked as a film director, and in the following years, he would realize about 20 films.

After he had dedicated himself to photography as of 1955, he concentrated on painting during his stay in Milan, starting from 1968.

Vanni Viviani was born in 1937, in San Giacomo delle Segnate in the province of Mantua.  At a young age, he moved to Bolzano and devoted himself to figurative painting and sculpture.
