Knud Andreassen Baade

Knud Andreassen Baade (1808 - 1879) was active/lived in Norway.  Knud Baade is known for Landscape painting.

After hist first artistic training in Bergen in 1825, Knud Andreassen Baade attended the Copenhagen Academy to study with Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg. He then studied for many years in Dresden with Johan Chistian Dahl, interrupted by traveling through Norway, Bavaria, Tirol and Switzerland.

Baade moved to Munich in 1845, and in 1849, he exhibited a depiction of a nightly Norwegian coast with outstanding success.

The well known painter Wilhelm von Kaulbach and Carl Rottmann praised the composition, and prince Luitpold wanted to have a replica of it.
