Arthur Thrall

Arthur Thrall (Born 1926) is active/lives in Wisconsin.  Arthur Thrall is known for Paintings, printmaker, educator.

A printmaker and painter with lyrical calligraphic lines visualizing music, Thrall uses oil and acrylic in painting - and etching or intaglio on metal plates for limited edition prints

Arthur Thrall pursued serious art studies in undergraduate then graduate programs at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the University of Illinois-Urbana, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Ohio State University.

He served as the Farrar-Marrs Chair of Fine Arts at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, teaching printmaking, painting and art education.  Milwaukee-Downer College merged with Lawrence in 1964, and Thrall held the Ferrar-Marrs Chair in Fine Arts until his retirement in 1990.

He has been a member of the Boston Printmakers and the Society of American Graphic Artists (New York) for nearly 40 years. His paintings and prints have been in more than 500 exhibits in the USA and abroad including England, Finland and Germany.
