The Italian painter and graphic artist Carmelo Zotti, was born in 1933 in Triest.  He went to Venice in the 1940's, to study at the Accademia di Belle Arti.

In 1956, he exhibited at the Venice Biennale for the first time.  Zotti was involved in a lot of national and international exhibitions in his life. The oeuvre of the painter is characterized by a symbolic and surrealistic visual language and by the fabulous legendary scenes of his paintings.
