Edoardo Gordigiani (1866 - 1961) was active/lived in New York / Italy, France.  Edoardo Gordigiani is known for Impressionist portrait, still life and landscape painting.

Eduardo Gordigiani, a portrait, still life and landscape painter, was born in Florence, Italy on January 18, 1866.  He completed his classical* studies at the college Domenge in 1880, and at the behest of the family, he pursued a military career.  However, in a short time, overcoming resistance of his father, he was able to enroll at the Accademia di Belle Arti* in Florence.

Around 1885 he began recurring trips to Paris with friends E. Fabbri and A. Müller, during which he met Manet, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec and Cézanne. Their influence, together with spending time in the atelier of Giovanni Boldini, proved crucial for influencing him to think beyond academic precepts. From that time his painting style became increasingly 'modern', going from Impressionist* to Post-Impressionist*.
