Felipe considers himself a chronicler, politician, diplomat, activist and professor, but above all he is a Mexican painter and sculptor who explores and navigates the contemporary world.  His visual learning began with inspiration from muralist José Chávez Morado, sculptors Feliciano Béjar and Mathias Goeritz.  For three years he wrote in Mexico City Times magazine using "Montenegro" as his pen name.  Towards the end of the 60's he represented Mexico in exhibitions and art fairs in Texas, New Jersey and Argentina.  Later, he exiled himself to England, where he initiated with some colleagues the group Beau Geste Press / Libro Acción Libre, dedicated to presenting the work of important poets and experimental Fluxus visual artists.  In 1979 he founded H2O Talleres de Comunicación, that, for ten years, directed the artistic creation for   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 2710 characters.]  Artist bio
