Allan Dunfield SFCA (Born 1950)

A British Columbia, Canada painter, Allan Dunfield was born in Vancouver, lived for a time in New York City, and has lived in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia (on Vancouver Island) since about 2001.

His primary medium is acrylic paint; however, early in his career he also used watercolors. His subjects have included landscapes, wilderness scenes, beaches, mountains and still life. His style could be described as Fauvism* or Modernism*. The askART auction results have many excellent illustrations of his best known style and subjects.

His art education includes two years (1969 – 1971) at the School of Visual Arts in New York City where he studied studio arts and photography. Harold William Townsend (see askART) a co exhibitor is also noted as a mentor (c. 2006 – 2013).
