Tymon NIESIOLOWSKI   1882 Lviv - 1965 Torun Painter, graphic artist, educator.

In the years 1900-1905 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under Stanislaw Wyspianski and Józef Mehoffer. In the period 1906-1926 he lived in Zakopane, from where he traveled to Italy, Paris and Munich.

In 1908 he was a co-founder of the "Group of Five", from 1917 he was associated with the group "Formists", and from 1922 with the Association "Rytm". In 1926 he moved to Vilnius, where he became the director of the School of Artistic Crafts, and from 1928 he lectured at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Stefan Batory University.

After the war, he took the chair of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun; from 1958 he was a member of "Grupa Torunska". He painted - distinguished by decorativeness of form and color - still lifes, nudes, portraits, less often landscapes.
