Peter Tomschiczek, (1940 Iglau, lebt in Ellmosen)At the age of 14, Peter Tomschiczek began an apprenticeship as a screen printer. He then attended the Würzburg School of Arts and Crafts and later studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg with Fritz Griebel and Johannes Itten. At the age of 23, he started his own business as a freelance artist. The art movements Informel, Arte Povera and Art Brut initially shaped his work, but over time he developed his own visual language. It is above all the experience of nature and the search for form that play a major role in his painting. On numerous journeys, he collected impulses and impressions in order to later translate them into powerful, mostly large-format paintings in his studio in Ellmosen. He works with elements such as sand, earth and feathers and tries to create a certain tension in the format.
