Michèle Destarac was a self-taught artist born in Yerres, France. She showed her paintings for the first time in 1964 at the Paris Biennale. At the age of 20, her work caught the attention of John Pollak, director of the Ariel Gallery, who offered her a contract in 1969. She was able to rub shoulders with some of the most prominent international figures in the art world. Her works are included in several public collections, including the Musée national d'art moderne
