An important and influential Canadian Inuit printmaker, graphic artist, draftsman, and sculptor; Lukta Qiatsuk (disc number* E7-1060) was born in Cape Dorset* [aka: Kinngait], Baffin Island, Northwest Territories [now Nunavut], and lived his whole life there. For over 50 years Qiatsuk’s works have been featured in dozens of museum exhibitions in Canada, the USA, Europe, and Japan; and, in dozens of landmark books about Inuit Art. His works are in the permanent collections of over 24 major museums including the National Gallery of Canada. (2) 

In addition to carving and sculpting in stone and drafting; his print mediums included stonecut*, stencil, stonecut and stencil mixed medium, sealskin stencil, linocut*, stone rubbing, and engraving. He was also a master printmaker and stone block cutter whose works in that specialty are in the collection of Museum of Modern Art, New York (see footnote 5).
