Khoo Sui Ho (1939-)

Born in January, 1939, in Kedah, West Malaysia, he studied at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Art, Singapore in 1959, and Pratt Graphic Center, New York in 1974.

Datuk Lim Chong Keat, visiting professor of the University of Manchester wrote about Khoo's works, "Like in the surrealistic paintings, Khoo's episdic pictures also have the believable and incontrovertible qualities of dream situations and characters in legends or mythology. His figures express moods and temperament which communicate directly to the viewer. We can read in thier circumtances of pathos, anticipation, menace, reticence or wonder."

Khoo has held 41 one-man shows in Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bandung, Bali, Taipei, Melbourne, Adelaide, Honolulu, New York, Washingdon D.C., Houston, and Shanghai.
