Xia Jun-Na was born in Inner Mongolia and graduated from the Department of Oil Painting, Central Institute of Fine Arts.  Xia has won several awards during school, and her works have been collected by the institute.  Afterwards, Xia's paintings were put in exhibiting numerous times in China, and then became a new star of art auction market and Chinese rising new artist.
Xia's creation has her own distinct personality with exotic mood, shrewd usage of color, and a sense of poetic feeling.  She once explained about the vague facial expression on her paintings.  It is a method to prevent viewers from neglecting paintings' overall feeling of too clear and catchy faces.  In all, Xia's paintings present a mysterious aura close to symbolism or surrealism.
