Hans Bottcher (1897 - 1986) was active/lived in Germany.  Hans Bottcher is known for Painting.

Hans Böttcher was born in Berlin in 1897.  He taught himself as a painter and traveled through France and Brazil.  After that he worked as a freelance artist in Berlin.  His early works were stylistically committed to the late Expressionism.

During the war, Böttcher was forbidden to paint and many of his works were destroyed.  After 1945, his style developed further and further towards abstraction, influenced by the Art Informel.  In addition, he worked with the 'Berliner Kulturkollektiv', in which Max Pechstein and Otto Mueller also participated.
