Artist Eduarda Lapa was born in 1896.

She was a disciple of Artur Loureiro, Emília Santos Braga and Armando de Lucena. 

Maria Eduarda Lapa distinguished herself as an interpreter of flowers with a lively and luminous palette. 

Lapa sensitively painted rustic landscapes and riverside stretches of soft color. 

She obtained from the National Society of Fine Arts the Medals of Honor in pastel (1948) and in oil (1954). 

She is represented at the Chiado Museum, the Grão Vasco Museum in Viseu, the Guarda and Aveiro Museums, as well as significant Portuguese private collections.

The artist passed away 1976.
