Painting and graphic artist (1893 Elberfeld until 1967 Blankenheim / Eifel), was considered a significant Eifel painter, 1909-10 visiting the Kunstgewerbeschule Elberfeld, 1911-13 studied at the Art Academy Karlsruhe with Walter Georgi and Walter Conz, 1913-14 students Art Academy in Munich under Peter Halm and Angelo Jank, military service in WW1 with wounding, 1922-24 master student of Alois Kolb in Leipzig, undertook from 1930 numerous study trips to countries such as Spain, Ibiza, Norway, Iceland, France, Greece and Italy,
