Cote Escriva was born in Valencia, Spain in 1982. He was heavily influenced at a young age by American pop culture, urban art, and the cartoons of Disney, Nickelodeon, and Warner Brothers.

Those influences are readily apparent in the young artist’s work, which often features these characters - especially in his Twisted Toons line with Pobber Toys.

Cote  is a designer, illustrator, and toymaker whose mixture of street art aesthetics, pop culture iconography, and bold colors have made him extremely popular with collectors since he burst onto the scene in the mid-2010s.

It is Escriva's vinyl toys that have put him on the map with urban art collectors. Much in the vein of other luminaries like KAWS, Takashi Murakami, and Tara McPherson, Escriva has a knack for mixing in pop culture, bright colors, and beautiful aesthetic choices to make pieces that feel like more than the sum of their parts.
