Bettie Felder was born in Tennessee and has spent most of her adult years in Texas. Largely a self-taught artist. Bettie began painting in 1966. She has a style and discipline that comes from long hours of study and preparation. She chooses a realistic style, preferring memories that give her pleasure.

Bettie is a meticulous craftsman but not a prolific artist. She usually takes a month to complete one of her oils and will not allow it to be exhibited until she has achieved the space and openness that she wants to create. For this reason, she is in the collection of many serious collectors throughout the USA.
