Antoine Villard (1867 - 1934) was active/lived in France.  Antoine Villard is known for Semi-abstract painting of marine scenes, coastal view, still life, figures, buildings.

Antoine Auguste Villard, born April 17, 1867 in Mâcon and died February 4, 1934 in Paris, is a French painter, naturalist and impressionist.

After a first career as an industrialist (like his father, a banker in Mâcon), it was not until around 1907 that he devoted himself fully to painting. He studied architecture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, under the supervision of Jules Lefebvre and Benjamin-Constant.

The catalogs show a constant interest in the landscape almost to the exclusion of any other genre: Lyon, Paris, and the hills around Hurigny where the family home is located. In 1913 he made a stay in the desert of southern Tunisia. In 1923 his paintings of Belle-Île-en-Mer were exhibited at Bernheim Jeune.

Villard's first canvases were strongly influenced by Impressionism, but they quickly gave way to more realistic and sometimes expressionist works.
