Was the De Dominici to document the activities of the scribe and interpreter of Caravaggio young Andrea Vaccaro, with results to the point estimated to induce the father of the biographer to sell the works such as the original Lombard master.  The fact, however, should not be considered just an anecdote on the nonchalance of the seventeenth-century art market, but highlights the virtues' quality of the painter and his undoubted contribution to the Neapolitan naturalistic painting.  

Initially divided among the examples of Merisi and the Battistello Caracciolo teaching, Vaccaro is prominent figure, often wrongly underestimated by a flattered more critical with high-sounding names and intransigencies chiaroscuro that by concrete measures of value.
