Among them were many women artists, such as Natalia Goncharova, Alexandra Exter and Sonia Terk-Delaunay, and of course Alexandra Scekotikhina-Potockaja. Scekotikhina-Potockaja's works offer a rereading of works by French painters such as Jean-Léon Gérôme and his portrait of Bashi-Bazouk (1868-69) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (2008.547.1).
