Thorvald Arnst Hoyer (1872 - 1949) was active/lived in Illinois / Denmark. Thorvald Hoyer is known for Naive visionary landscape and genre.
Described as a "modern primitive" with a Pointilliest style, Thorvald Hoyer did painting as a hobby while making money at menial jobs to support his Hungarian wife, Regina Dicker, and his stepdaughter. His early work was exhibited in Chicago in 1944 in the galleries of Marshall Field & Company.
