Tribute To Pearl (a mixed-media piece with acrylic, ink and collage on board) was done in 2002 when the artist heard the news that journalist Daniel Pearl had been killed by his captors in Pakistan.

She felt compelled to create the work of art as the event left her shaken, angry and extremely sad. She had just purchased two retablos in a second-hand shop and used a copy of one of them without knowing who the saint was. Interestingly, it turned out to be Santo Nino De Atocha, the patron saint of those unjustly imprisoned, protector of travelers, and rescuer of those in peril.

Her works are mostly in private collections.
