Hans Kinder, (1900-1986, Dresden), Hans Kinder, who had been painting in Ahrenshoop every summer since 1947, was particularly fascinated by light and its effect on form. He was able to perceive this effect intensively here on the Baltic Sea and process it in his works. The "sailors under dazzling white" are an example of this. On bright and penetrating yellow, which dominates the screen, we see sailboats drifting calmly on the sea at sunset. Kinder captures the magic of the moment, when the light bathes everything in shades of yellow and the light seems to swallow the shape. Kinder exaggerates this moment in his work, in which he depicts the sun itself only as a white hemisphere. Soulful sailing romance abstracted. Hans Kinder completed his studies at the Dresden School of Arts and Crafts in 1916/1917, which was interrupted by military service until 1919.
