Dietrich Klinge was born in Heiligenstadt in 1954.  He studied from 1973-80 Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart under Peter Gray, Gunter Böhmer and Rudolf Schoofs, followed by the studies of sculpture under Herbert Baumann and Alfred Hrdlicka.  After graduating in 1984 he has worked as a freelance artist, participating in numerous national and international exhibitions.
