Carl Hilgers (1818 - 1890) was active/lived in Germany.  Carl Hilgers is known for Landscape painting and sculpture.

Carl Hilgers took drawing classes at the Düsseldorf Academy and later studied under Johann Wilhelm Schirmer.  He was a member of the artists' association ‘Malkasten’ and undertook numerous travels through Germany as well as to Holland, Belgium and France.  After a short stay in Berlin, he returned to Dusseldorf where he was active for the rest of his life.
