Stanley Sobossek was born in New York in 1918 and began working with oils during the middle of the 20th century.  In September 1955, he won first prize in New York City's "Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit" for his oil painting titled "Mechanic Street, New Hope, PA", an exhibition dating to 1931.
