Riccardo Pellegrini

Riccardo Pellegrini (1863 - 1934) was active/lived in Italy.  Riccardo Pellegrini is known for Landscape, figure, still life, genre and marine painting and mixed-media.

After starting his artistic career in Milan, he studied in Rome and then in Naples with Domenico Morelli. Painter with great pictorial skills, he loves to use bright and clear colors by spreading them in spots following a careful study of lights and shadows.

In his vast production very often landscapes and scenes of genre and costume appear, often inspired by the Gypsy world known during his stays in Spain as the one presented in the catalog. The city view is enriched by numerous figures that catalyze the gaze of the spectator while in the background a large arch from the depths to the work.

The pictorial conduct is characterized by a texture of rich and full-bodied brush strokes that define the first floor, while Pellegrini adopts a more fluid and loose draft for the figures placed in the background.   ...  [Displaying 852 of 1328 characters.]  Artist bio
