Kenneth Forbes O.C. (1892 – 1980)

A prominent Canadian painter and war artist, Captain Kenneth Keith Forbes was born in Toronto, Ontario where, other than for schooling and war (1908 – 1924), he lived for the rest of his life and died. He was a member of the Ontario Society of Artists* and the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts* and a founder of the Ontario Institute of Painters*. His works are in the collections of numerous museums including the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, England, the Canadian War Museum and the National Gallery of Canada. He was one of the first recipients of the Order of Canada*.
