Jacek Rykala (born September 1, 1950 in Sosnowiec ) - artist, painter , professor of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice , vice-rector of the above-mentioned university, runs the Drawing and Painting Studio; also a poet and director (author of the plays "House intended for demolition" and "Mleczarnia").

In 1968, he graduated from the 3rd Secondary School of General Education. Boleslaw Prus in Sosnowiec , and in 1976 the Graphics Department in Katowice at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow . The subject of the works is filled with the face of the eastern part of Upper Silesia and the Dabrowski Basin (courtyards, gates, mysterious places not only from childhood).

Works presented around the world in over 50 individual and 250 collective exhibitions, dozens of art fairs (Art Frankfurt, Art Köln, Art Chicago and others). He was one of the few artists who had a solo exhibition at the National Museum in Krakow (2002) during his lifetime .
