Georg Nerlich was a German artist born in Oppeln, Germany in 1892. He studied at the Academy Breslau and was a member of the Artists' Association of Silesia and the German Werkbund. During the Nazi regime, he was defamed as "degenerate" from 1937-45. After the war, he worked as a freelance artist in Dresden and later became a professor at the TH Dresden. He was a member of the Verband Bildender Künstler (VBK) of the GDR and lived in Dresden-Loschwitz. He died in Dresden in 1982.
