Barbro Ostlihn (1930 - 1995) was active/lived in Sweden.  Barbro Ostlihn is known for Painting.

Barbro Östlihn's painting must be regarded as one of the most interesting and important during the late 20th century. At the beginning of the 1960s, she moved to New York with her new husband Öyvind Fahlström at just over 30 years old. There she achieved great success with separate exhibitions, including at Cordier & Ekstrom, Tibor de Nagy Gallery and Marian Goodman Gallery.

She had a unique painting talent and was very well received by the new circle of friends, including Robert Rauschenberg, Frank Stella, Jasper Johns, Claes Oldenburg and Donald Judd, the latter also one of the leading art critics. In her work, Barbro Östlihn became unbelievably faithful to the oil painting.
