Painter of landscapes, still lifes and oriental figures, Agustín Alegre studied at the School of Arts and Crafts of Teruel and the School of Fine Arts of San Carlos de Valencia, a city to which he has been linked since the beginning of his career. There, in fact, he has exhibited regularly, for the last thirty years, at the Segrelles del Pilar gallery. Throughout his long career, Alegre has been awarded numerous times, receiving, among others, the Goerlich Prize from the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Valencia (1955), the Senyera de Pintura del Ayuntamiento de Valencia (1957), the Diputación de Teruel en la II Biennial of the Tagus (Toledo, 1972), the First Prize for Painting at the XXIII Exhibition of African Painters in Madrid (1973), the Galerías Preciados and Madrid City Council Awards at the XIV and XV Exhibition of San Isidro (Madrid, 1977 and 1978), the Gold Badge of Fine Arts (Segrelles del Pilar gallery, Valencia, 1978), the First National Drawing Prize Bernardo Zapater (Albar   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 1729 characters.]  Artist bio
