Yoichi Midorikawa

Yoichi Midorikawa (1915 - 2001) was active/lived in Japan.  Yoichi Midorikawa is known for Photography.

Yoichi Midorikawa   (1915 – 2001)

Born in Oku-gun, Okayama Prefecture. Opened a dental clinic in Okayama City in 1937 after graduating from Nihon University's School of Dentistry. 

Started dabbling in photography the following year, showing his work through the Chugoku Photographers Club alongside new-found friend Shoji Ueda and others.  Founded the Ginryusha Photo Club in 1947 together with Shotaro Akiyama, Shoji Ueda and Tadahiko Hayashi. 

Began experimenting with figurative and color expression in the 1950s. Received the Japanese Society of Photography Critics Prize, Photographic Society of Japan's Photographer of the Year Award and Okayama Prefecture Culture Award for his photobook The Seto Inland Sea
