Ludwig Muller Cornelius was born in Munich, Germany in 1864. He started his career as a gilder apprentice and later traveled to Switzerland. In 1908, he turned to painting and specialized in genre motifs in the style of the 19th century. He was a member of the Reich Association of Fine Artists in Germany.
