Ludwig Deutsch

Ludwig Deutsch (1855 - 1935) was active/lived in France, Egypt, Austria.  Ludwig Deutsch is known for Orientalist figure and genre painting.

Ludwig Deutsch (Vienna, 1855 - Paris, 1935) was an Austrian painter who settled in Paris. Deutsch came from a well-established Jewish family; his father was a financier at the Austrian court.

He studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts 1872-1875, then, in 1878, moved to Paris where he became strongly associated with Orientalism. He was on good terms with another Austrian Orientalist in Paris Rudolf Ernst.
