Jozef Szajna

Jozef Szajna (1922 - 2008) was active/lived in Poland.  Jozef Szajna is known for Painting.

Set designer, theater director, painter, graphic designer. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. The beginnings of the artist's painting and graphic work date back to the 1950s. Initially, he was fascinated by informel art, he used the collage technique, and in the 1960s he moved more and more towards assemblage - he emphasized the texture of the composition by applying fragments of ready-made objects. He also referred to the tragic war experiences in his paintings from the 1980s and 1990s, in which he referred to both the experiences of figurative art and abstract expressionism. He represented Poland, among others. at the Venice Biennale (1970 and 1990) and at the Sao Paulo Biennale (1979
