James John Hill

James John Hill (1811 - 1882) was active/lived in United Kingdom.  James Hill is known for Painting, portraits.

James John Hill was born in Birmingham in 1811 and studied at the Drawing School of J V Barber. Hill was a member of the Barber family of artists of Birmingham. Hill moved to London where he built up a reputation as a portrait painter, showing principally at the Royal Society of British Artists and at the Royal Academy between 1845 and 1868. He died at Highgate in 1882.
